Board-certified Emergency Department physicians provide 24-hour coverage and are available to assist your team with initial patient stabilization and/or transfer arrangements via ambulance, helicopter, or fixed-wing aircraft. HCMC was the first hospital in Minnesota verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level 1 Trauma Center. Our Emergency Medicine physicians are also available for consultation regarding non-referral patients.

Our clinics are closed weekends and holidays, but physicians are available for consultation or referral through the HFA Physician Consult Hotline, and Hennepin County Medical Center is always open. Consultants from all specialties and subspecialties are on call 24-hours a day, and calls are connected to the faculty physician or dentist within five minutes.
