Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota. She has a Masters of Science in Community Health Nursing as well as a certificate of International Health and Social Development from the University of Michigan. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing with a focus on Health Promotion/Risk Reduction at the University of Michigan.
Rachel's passion for HIV/AIDS care and research has taken her to South Africa and Botswana where she engaged in providing community health and HIV/AIDS care to persons of all ages. Her research interest involves adherence to antiretroviral therapy in African American women. Determining reliable predictors of medication taking behavior in the context of a theoretical framework is essential to future adherence intervention research.
